FAQs

Can I get services hours for volunteering?

Yes, we give 3 hours for our events. These events are roughly 90 - 120 minutes of volunteering, and we give the extra hour as a thank-you for grocery shopping before the event.

The Feed The City Leader at the event you are attending will sign your form or provide you with one at the end of the event. We do not send forms post event. You must get them signed at the event. If you use a digital platform to track hours please use nmarino@tangocharities.org for the email address.

Is there an age limit to attend?

Our events are open to all ages. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone 17 and under. Per every five indiviudals under 17 there must be an adult.

Do I need to bring any thing?

Yes. Please refer to the items on the event page that you are attending to see what you should bring.

Can I host an event?

Our entire organization is led by volunteers. If you would like to start an event in your city please get in touch with us here.

If I can't attend, can I drop-off premade food?

Can't make it? No worries! We have a solution for you. Pack up the items mentioned "Can't Attend? Drop Off!" We DO NOT accept pre-made sandwiches.

What do I wear to the event?

Please wear closed-toe shoes. We ask anyone with long hair to have it pulled back or to wear a hat. If you would like to wear orange, do so. That is the color for hunger awareness. If you are looking for Tango Charities merchandise, you can find it here

Can we donate money?

Yes, you can. Click here to donate. All donations are tax-deductible.

Can my group participate?

100%! It doesn't matter how many people attend. Anyone over 18 years of age should register on the event page. Also, please ensure that EACH PERSON brings supplies for 25-30 meals. We ask that each person register separately.

Can I drop off food on the weekdays?

Unfortunately, we only accept food during the times of our Feed The City events.

Where does the food go after it's made and can I help distribute?

At all of our events we partner with local food organizations in the area. Those partners pick up the food from our event and they distribute the food to their patrons. We do not coordinate distribution. These organizations range from food pantries to soup kitchens to shelters to after school programs and more. Our events usually produce enough food to support multiple organizations on a given Saturday.
